Flood and Moisture Assessment

Moisture intrusion or leaks within buildings can not only cause damage to the buildings but can also lead to a health hazard for the occupants due to mould growth.

Insulation problems, water intrusion and ineffective ventilation can all cause moisture and mould growth. A thermal imaging survey can detects these problems and provide you with visual evidence of the locations and extents of the problems.

Defects within buildings can cause localised cooling such as this shown above. In this instance condensation and significant mould growth within the building were caused by ineffectively installed insulation within this new property.

A thermal imaging survey can highlight the problems that cause mould and identify water ingress points or the reasons for mould growth. Surveys are carried out without having to cause any damage to the building and we produce a report within 4 working days of completing the survey.

The report would contain thermal images, digital images, analysis and our recommendations.

Flood damage assessment surveys can be carried out within properties to identify the extent of any water damage, identify the location of the leak or to demonstrate to insurers that leaks have occurred.

Take a look a sample underfloor pipe leak survey report...

Thermal images along with digital images within our report give clear evidence of the extent and amount of damage within ceilings or walls.

To the naked eye, the tide marks from this flooded basement area appear only to reach approximately 20mm above the skirting boards. Using our high specification thermal imaging equipment we are able to demonstrate that the actual levels of water damage reach significantly higher up the wall.

Thermographic Roof Leak Survey at Macclesfield College

In October 2008 we carried out a thermographic survey of the roof areas at Macclesfield College. The warranty of the new build was due to expire and we were contracted to inspect and report any damage to the roof. Our engineer highlighted 2 water leaks and an area in the glass atrium where air escape was occuring due to a failed seal. The inspection was carried out in one night and a full report was presented to the client within four working days.
